The best timing
- Book your spray tan one to two days before your event. That gives the colour time to fully develop and settle, so it looks its best on the day.
- Avoid booking on the morning of the event. You need time for the tan to develop and for your first rinse before you get dressed.
Do a trial tan first
- For a wedding or any important event, book a trial tan two to four weeks before. It lets you and Keva choose the right shade, and you will see how your skin takes the colour and how long it lasts.
- Take a few photos during your trial, in daylight and with flash, so you can see how the shade looks on camera.
Planning around your other appointments
- Waxing and shaving: at least 24 hours before your tan.
- Facials, massages and body treatments: before your tan, not after.
- Manicure and pedicure: ideally before your tan. Let Keva know so she can protect your nails.
- Hair: colour, cuts and blowouts are best done before your tan, as washing your hair afterwards can streak the tan on your neck and back.
Your outfit
- Wear loose, dark clothing to your tan and until after your first rinse.
- Once you have rinsed and the tan has settled, light-coloured dresses and fabrics are much safer. If you are wearing white or ivory, mention it so Keva can advise on timing.
